Event Details:
 

Target Audience: Registered Dietitians and Dietetic Technicians who may benefit from understanding food policies and food policy issues in the Charlotte area as well as North Carolina and the United States.

Learning Objectives:
1. Identify ways that food policies impact our health and environment.
2. Identify promising policy approaches that support healthy food and beverage choices.
3. Identify how health professionals can support and advocate for food policy practices in our communities.
Cost: A three course dinner will be provided for FREE to the first 20 CDA members who RSVP (alcoholic beverages are not covered by CDA).
After those slots are full, the cost of the meeting is $20 for CDA members.
The meeting is $30 for non CDA members.

Teleseminar objectives:
Locate and use information in the ADA Evidence Analysis Library (and understand the process)
Discuss the evidence-based recommendations related to diabetes type 1 and 2
Summarize the evidence related to nutrition counseling including behavior change theories, strategies to promote behavior change and individual versus group counseling
Apply evidence-based counseling strategies in diabetes care
